Relief

I am really proud of the young ladies in my area. As some of you may know I am a Girl Scout Nerd. Both Local and National Girl Scout efforts are being made to meet the needs of the Haiti Earthquake Victims It’s great BUT I can’t help but wonder, what about New Orleans?

I find that we treat strangers better than we do our family. Does this mean we shouldn’t help Haiti? Hell NO. We should! With love, and effort. But will we forget about them in five years the way we did Louisiana?

If anything, I hope we are reminded, and that we act.

How do you decided how much to give? For me (and you) money is tight. The $10 Text was a big deal for me. That almost worries me more. How many people decided not to give, cause they have been in need like never before.

I can’t listen to NPR without feeling EXTREME guilt. I’m lucky compared to most, but things are certainly not how I planned.  I find myself wishing I could hop on a plane, and head to the place in need, and physically put my hands to work. But I can’t. So when the Scouts came to my door, looking for flashlights, extra toothbrushes, hand sanitizer and ponchos, I gave it all. None of these things, I really need.

To help you act:

I found Google really did their due diligence and put together a page of ever place and way you can donate. Nice:
